Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed by Jared Diamond

Intro
I was given this book from a friend. He was only half way through it but had put it aside for awhile. It is pretty much the biggest book I've ever read. I read the hard cover version and I recommend it. There's this wonderful feeling I get from reading a hard cover that I just don't get from a soft cover.

Summary
Jared Diamond in his infamous book Collapse, arranges the sections by great historical civilizations. He discusses many of the different causes that brings a civilization from the heights of its knowledge and power, with the most advanced lifestyles in the world, down to virtual extinction.

Review
This was a long version of explaining how civilizations collapse. I could say it in a sentence. If you don't protect your air, water and main commodities, you will not sustain life. If you do not believe that, or need proof, then that is what this book does. It proves it to you hands down. After you read this book you can not argue that fact. Period.

The points were hammered home in an almost repetitive manner, but I suppose it is not his fault many civilizations collapsed for similar reasons. I loved the way everything can be related to our current world situation. Take the most powerful civilization today and see if they are doing anything that Jared Diamond points out caused the collapse, and you have reason to believe change is near.

I do recommend you read this book with patience. You will learn a lot.

HOW TO RECORD MUSIC AND GET IT ON THE INTERNET

Intro
My amazing girlfriend took her parents christmas present back to chapters and traded it in for this book for me. I finished reading it in about 1 week but it will never leave my side.

Summary
"How to record your own music and get it on the internet" is exactly what the title says. It goes through equipment and software and procedures. It has information for the most basic beginner without a lot of money all the way to a graduate with a degree and rich parents.

Review
It is a simple read with a textbook like ease of searching and finding the information you require. You will keep the book nearby as I have done for many references. Its a simple, entertaining read that captures your attention to the point you do not want to stop reading. Everybody who wants to record music or improve their recordings, should read this book.

I have been recording music for about 10 years and this book took me to a new level of quality and skill. I will keep referencing this book for any question I have with recording as I gradually increase my expenditure on equipment.

The Game by Neil Strauss

Intro
6 months after my fiance left me, I still hadn't touched another woman. I was given The Game by Neil Strauss and 7 days into reading it, about 34 pages, I got laid. Do you even need to read the review?

Summary
The Game by Neil Strauss is the story of one socially awkward man who takes on a new identity as Styles and learns how to seduce woman in ways that make them love to be with him, and desire him sexually. On his journey he learns so much about woman, and meets many, many woman to share his adventure with. He ends up living in an amazing mansion in Hollywood living a rock star lifestyle.

Review
Neil Strauss is a professional writer so this book is extremely well written, easy to read and full of exciting and funny stories. Even though it is non-fiction, it brings you into a day dream effect of imagining yourself in Styles shoes. This book is great for a man of any age looking to improve his skills with females. You don't have to be bad with women, you just have to want to improve. This book totally changed my life. I hope you let it do the same for you.

Think and Grow Rich by Nappolean Hill

Summary
I just finished reading this book last week. Napolean Hill studied Andrew Carnegie for 25 years. As an understudy, he had amazing access to wealthy famous people such as Henry Ford and Thomas Edison . This book shows the power of the mind and the importance of a thought.

Review
It was difficult to read because it was written in the early 1990's. If you can just keep on trekking through the dry and tasteless pages, you'll realize at the end it was a very healthy read. You will be a better person when you are finished reading it and thats what I like. Has it made me rich? Hell no. Could it? If I followed the steps as it is said, yes I believe I could, and you could as well.

The cost of under $20 for this book is nothing compared to the priceless information gathered in such an organized methodical way. Its priceless because $20 could easily make you a million with this book.
